We all know that the most depressing thing about the book trade is that Christmas starts in September. Having tried to prepare myself for the inevitable deluge of celebrity biographies I was still amazed to see every member of the England football team release their autobiographies almost symultaneously. I can't help but think that if they had shown this sort of team work in June we may still have been celebrating an historic victory.
